Family Holidays

Home > Family Information > Family Holidays

Au pairs like the chance to return home for a week around Christmas or the New Year. If your Au pair has been with you for less than 6 months this will be unpaid holiday. When your Au pair has been with you for 6 months or more, this should be a paid holiday.

When the family goes on holiday together, you should aim to include your Au pair too. Alternatively, pay for your Au Pair to return home for the time you are away, or see if she can stay with a friend. If your Au pair is willing to stay and house sit, they must be paid properly, and you should ask friends and neighbours to help her.
