The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I would like to go as an Au Pair to the Spain as it is a great opportunity of experiencing another culture, different habits and traditions, meeting new people. I love children and helping others. Apart from that I think my English is very good and as I still want to make it better I also would like to learn Spanish. I think it will be also a great challenge for me. I like challenges and I would really like to take advantage of this programme. I know it will let me broaden my horizons. Spain is very beautiful and that I can learn a lot just by spending my holidays with your family.

My Interests:

Firstly I am intersted in my studies, so generally medical subjects. But generally i have a lot of interests. I have always been interested in sports and active life style. I had been training tekwondo for 4 years, and after that I started training acrobatic dance. I was practicing and attending in competitions for 4 years. I was also practicing many other sports, such as tennis, volleyball, basketball and so on. Besides, I must admit I love painting and drawing, reading and watching good films. Psychological ones, crime films, dramas and good thrillers, that’s something that does excite me. But I also like comedies and cartoons. Writing about my hobbies I have to mention about my musical experience. I was attending to musical school for 8 years. I achieved first stage in violin class. On second stage I was playing saxophone, but unfortunately I didn’t graduate because I was preparing to medical school. I also was playing the piano during both stages and singing in the choir.

Family Letter:

Dear Family, First I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kinga and I am twenty-one years old. Three years ago have started to study medicine in Szczecin also to live there. I was born in smaller city - Olsztyn in Poland. I visit them as often as it is possible because I am very domestic person. Since I have lived without my family I have became more responsible, resourceful and organized. My study takes a lot of my time and I have to manage everything by myself. I generally like it because I am the oldest child so I very often feel the responsibility and since primary school I have tight schedule, I have had a lot of classes – languages, sports, arts. I have always wanted to achieve something in my life and not to waste my time. As far as my family is concerned, it is quite big – mother, father and one 19-years-old brother and 17-years-old sister. My mother has got a beauty salon and sometimes she spend almost whole day at work. My father is a psychotherapist and help people with mental disorders. My brother and sister are going to the high school. We are living in a house with a big garden. I love gardening and I do it with my father for whom it is a real passion. In our house also live some pets. We have a dog, exotic fish, canary but in our past we also had turtles, hamster and a guinea-pig. My family is quite typical. My mother – forty-six-years-old lovely woman, caring and thoughtful, she has learnt me how to cook and do the houseworks. We both love the cinema and the theatre. My father is forty-eight years old. He is the opposite of my mum. He is very funny, we spend a lot of time together listening to music, watching concerts, gardening and also riding bicycle, playing ping pong, tennis, volleyball and many others. My siblings are not much younger than me, but I have always had to take care of them and both play with them. But I really enjoy it. As I have written, my mother often spend a lot of time at work, so I had to clean up, cook and keep watch my brother and sister. I have started cooking when I was about 12 years old and until today I am still improving my skills. On week days we all were very busy so we tried to spend at least weekends together. We understand one another very well as we have much in common. We like being together and we always go on family holidays. I also have a few very close and reliable friends of mine with whom I like spending part of my free time and part of my holidays. Being at the seaside with them is always an unforgettable experience as I also love travelling. I have always been interested in sports and active life style. Generally, expanding my horizons and teaching new things are my targets. I want to finish my studies with good marks and a perspective of a good work. Thus I have decided to go for Erasmus, program enables students’ from European countries to study for part of their degree in another country. With no doubts I decided to go to Spain. For very long time I am interested in this country, the culture, music and architecture. I have already been to Spain, in Andalucía – Benalmádena and it was one of the most beautiful places I have been to. Then I can say that my motivations why do I want to be an au pair in Spain are: knowing Spanish culture, customs, seeing how people live in and improving my Spanish and also English. I would like to get more experience with children which, I am sure, could help me in my future. And of course I want to see another pretty place in Spain. As it comes to my childcare experience I think I get on very well with kids. I have worked with a wide age range of kids - from newborns to young adults, and find each group has its own special qualities. I am open, easy-going and I treat them as grown-ups. I am also creative and I enjoy playing with kids, making up games. It is not possible to treat each child is the same way. They are individual. Some of them are very active, have very original ideas and very mature thoughts. It is real education watching and talking to them. Especially it would be for me in foreign country. I realise that childcare is not just a pleasure but also a huge responsibility which requires a watchful attention, lots of patience and understanding. I think I am well-brought-up, in my house were set up rules which we respected. The children must realize of them and you cannot be too charitable. I think I will be a good au pair because I am a very responsible, communicative and I have a lot of patience. I am not moody and generally I am full of positive energy which I would like to share. I have experience with children aged from 3 to 17 years old. I was a babysitter for two kids. One of them – Piotr was 5 when I was taking care of him. I was working for his parents for a year. I came at weekends and help with houseworks and babysitting. Second job was with a girl Amelia. She was 2 years old. I went to Warsaw to work for friends’ of my parents. I spend one month with them. Also last holidays I had my students’ practice in children hospital. I helped disabled kids with dressing, eating and also play with them. I really enjoy spending time with kids. I would like to go as an Au Pair to the Spain as it is a great opportunity of experiencing another culture, different habits and traditions, meeting new people. I think my English is quite good and as I still want to make it better I also would like to learn Spanish. I think it will be also a great challenge for me.
