Family Letter:

Dear family My name is Helga and being raised in Icleand, there’s always been this longing for something else in me. Now I finally feel that it’s time for me to see something else. Currently I’m studying fine arts in Reykjavík, the capital, where I’ve been living on my own since the fall of 2004. I see an au pair job as a great way to get settled in before I get my own place and get on with my studying. Therefor I prefer families from Berlin and Italy since I’d like to study there. I’ve got no former au pair training but a lot of experience with two nephews of mine. Last summer I spent working in the Face2face program for UNICEF and got quite good at comprimising myself. I wont let barriers like religon-differences or vegetarianism change my approach towards anyone. I also think it’s worth mentioning that I worked as a pool-guard for three summers. There I got good training, mostly around kids though. First-aid, injury, being strickt, cleaning. There isn’t much to surprise me anymore. I like being punctual and organized, the virtues my father tought me. I’m willing to do housework, work on weekends and at night, and although being an outgoing girl I never taste alchohol and doubt I ever will. I like children for their natural ability to express real feelings and sincere appreciation for the little things, wich I find sadly, disappearing. Kids make me happy and I often tend to see them as equals, being the Peter Pan that I am. Open, colorful and artistic. I love writing and the only thing I want is to get somewhere else to explore myself on the inside while experiencing the collison with new horizions. Well read and fluent in English with good basic in German. I like to read to children and play with the imagination. I believe in creativity such as music, drawing and games of pretending. I like to pretend that I’m a spy. I also find it fun to play with words, spelling and languages and often make games around that subject. I’m ready to be strickt as well as being a good friend to both children and parents and a part of a new family.
