The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I just love family life and exchanging cultures!! I am naturally very curious and I love challenges, learning new things, adopting a new way of life. I believe that it is a privilege to be surrounded by children while taking this challenge as they are probably the most open and unprejudiced parts of society. :-) I see my part in adjusting to a new way of family life, integrating into the family, respecting values, taking responsability, being open and honest even if there are conflicts. At the same time it is the most rewarding aspect of being an aupair: It is all about building strong relationships.

My Interests:

I`m the youngest of 4 children. My Mum (Swiss) and my Dad (German) led a missionary kids hostel in Singapore, so we were all born abroad and grew up with heaps of other kids. It`s been a very positive experience! I like the beach, swimming, surfing & skateboarding (I just learnt it), cooking, playing the piano, writing songs, recording music, doing crazy stuff with friends, movies, going to church...I just love action! During my stay in Sydney I was an active member of Hillsong Church and I join a young, contemporary church in Germany as well. That`s very important for me!

Family Letter:

Hi! Right now I`m looking for a nice family who would take me on board for approximately 1-2 months during my summer holidays next year (June-August). It would be amazing to spend this time with an Australian,spanish or American family. I`m from Germany (17 years old) and I spent summer 05 (australian winter) until Christmas 05 in Sydney. I love the Australien lifestyle and I like doing stuff with children especially outdoor sports, walks, swimming, beach, ....I don`t have any childcare diplomes :-), but I often play with our little neighbours. Besides one of them has authism and I regularly help him with his homework, what is quiet challenging but as well enjoyable. I`m also very curious, organised and can take responsability, as I planned my exchange to OZ on my own. I think it is very important for "my" family that they spend time together. My first hostfamily (during the student exchange) was just a bit different from what I expected a family to be: The two kids watched TV all day, the older daughter was out most of the time and they didn`t really talk much. For me family means doing things together, learning together, being really close, ....etc. So the most important thing for me is the atmosphere in your family not if like the same sort of things I enjoy.
