I would like to keep working as an au pair, because being in touch with another culture and see and help the kids raise is an extraordinary experience. You learn about yourself, and you feel loves by the kids you are looking after. It's a great oportunity also to learn about the world and people. "A man needs to travel. On his own risk, not through stories, images, books or TV. Needs to travel on his own, with his eyes and feet, to understand what is his. This way, one day he can plant his own trees and value them. Know the cold to enjoy the warm. And the other way around. Feel the distance and lack of protection in order to feel comfortable under his own roof. A man needs to travel to places he doesn't know to break this arrogance that makes us believe in the world as we imagine it, and not as it is or as it could be; that make us professors and doctors of what we haven't seen, when we should be pupils and simply go and see...”

My Interests:

I'm a brazilian japanese girl. My dad is japanese, my mom is brazilian, my sister is a sweden citizen and I'm living in USA. Well, my family is an "international family", and now is my time to spread my wings and learn how to fly. I'm just on my way. I'm studying International Relations in my country. I used to live in a big city called Belo Horizonte, far from my mom's house. Now I'm living in Naples, Florida, USA. I've already lived in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Is hard to talk about me. If you had asked me to talk about me 6 months ago, I would tell you a lot of foolish things. In 6 months I changed my mind a lot. I was a superficial and material girl, but my journey as an au pair is showing me a world I've never imagined before. I'm learning abou life, about how to reach happiness living a simple life, I'm dealing with my feelings and I'm knowing myself. I used to like fancy and superficial things, but living in USA is showing me it doesn't matter anymore. The american way of life is teaching me that more important than everything the money can buy, is to become a wise person. My american family is showing me that. So, talk about myself is hard. I'm in transition, becoming wise and mature.

Dear family, my family is Ione Yamamoto, 21 and from brazil. I'm living in USA since June. When I arrived here, I worked for a family in Pennsylvania. When I left them, I learned about family. They are an amazing family and they showed me how important is the word FAMILY. My second family is a fancy family, and here I'm learning how important is give attention to kids. I'm taking care of a baby and a 3-years old girl. She always trying to get some attention, but her parents is always busy. It hurt my heart, because in the beggining she was a brat kid, but now, she's fine. Make her be nice was hard, but I did it, and I really love her. She's not crying for her parents anymore. At the same time is good, is awful because I believe would be great if her parents play and have a time for her. I'm trying to say, what I really mean is that I wanna a work in a good family.
