I would like to work as an au pair in order to see a new country and experience its cultures. i enjoy working with children and meeting new people.

I am 24 i enjoy traveling and have worked with children abroad before but not as an au pair. i enjoy reading and cooking, i do swim but am not very fast!!!

Family Letter:

Dear Family Hello I am 24 years old; I come from Bedfordshire in England and am the eldest of four siblings. I have worked with both children and vulnerable adults for a number of years. As a teenager I babysat for friends, and was also a young leader at our local Brownie pack. I also worked for a local charity who offered play schemes and Saturday respite for children with special needs, as a play leader. After leaving school I went to university to train as a registered nurse for the learning disabilities, where I had numerous placements working with both children and adults. I have also worked on two summer camps as a camp counselor, where worked with other counselors, together we were responsible for the care of 9 children throughout the day. This included organizing a routine getting them up and ready for the day and setting them for bed time. I was also responsible also responsible for there emotional and social well being. This experience above anything I think gave me the skills to be able to build a rapport with children and be able to help understand their needs best. I also was responsible for entertainment and activities. Since retuning from camp I have worked as a learning support assistant for children with a moderate learning disability. I am hard working and enjoy working with children; I have a good sense of humor and ability to understand children and there needs. I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new things and challenges. I think I would enjoy the opportunity of becoming an au pair as it would enable me to explore a new country, its people and way of life whilst working with children and being part of a family environment. As you can see I have a lot of experience with special needs, and disabilities and would like to work with children or adults with special needs. However I would also enjoy working with other families and there children as I am sure I would still have a good experience and either way it would be an adventure. Yours faithfully Gemma Wilde
