The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I am very close to kids. I am affectuous to them. When I am in their company, I am playful, creative, warm, interactive, energetic and very enthusiastic. I took care of kids of different ages from 6 months to 14 years old, for over 10 years. I was a regular babysitter. I prefer babysitting kids from 3 years old because it is the year when the kids start to be very interactive, interesting. They start talking, discovering the world around them. It is a real pleasure for me to play with them and help them to understand things, talk….. I helped kids in learning how to read, write, color, socialize with other kids, being very good students (from a certain age). I always make sure they are always secured, I engage them in age appropriate activities; understand them, their needs, problems, worries, passions, feelings…. I also was in charge of a church group for 3 years. The kids were aged from 6 to 12 years old. I organized and supervised indoors and outdoors activities, helped them to create projects, played with them, organized parties and meetings with other church groups. We talked and discussed about everyday life issues. I really enjoyed my 5 months as au pair.

Dear host family, Currently, I am an pair selected by an au pair placement organization. I am part of an New Yorker family for 5 months. Since I broke my ankle, I could not fulfill my au pair duties.. Then I had to go back to France to recuperate. I am currently trying to rematch with a family, but the only problem is that families from everywhere but New York contact me. I am applying to find a family from New York on this website. My duties were to bring the kids to school and pick them up, driving them to their activities. I did light housekeeping. I arranged and supervised playdates, helped them with their homework, reading them bed time stories, took care of the laundry and the kids’ room. I cooked different types of meals (French, Carribbean or others, according to the family’s taste). I loved playing with them sports and board games. Being an au pair was much more is much more than just taking care of kids, it’s also being a part of family, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a substitute when the parents are away… It’s helping the parents to raise their children.
