The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I’d like to be an au-pair next summer from 1st July to 30th September as I really would like to live such an experience again. I’ve won the Erasmus project from my university that will allow me to study and take exams in Spain next year, so I’m a bit worried about the practice of English.

My Interests:

I’m Mariangela, 19-year old student and I’m Italian. In my family we are four: my mother, father, younger sister (15) and me. Last September I entered university thanks to my English level that made me pass the entry exam. I reached quite a good position in the list (700 participants and only 180 were able to enter). My faculty is “Interpreters and Translators”- I study English as a first language, Spanish as a second one and Chinese as a third one. I can speak a bit of French as well. My family comes from the South of Italy, Puglia and my town is Ostuni. I don’t know if you’ve heard about it, it is popular for tourism. Because of my university studies I now live in Northern Italy, in Emilia Romagna and the city is Forlì, near Bologna, as mine is a faculty of the University of Bologna. As you may have noticed I love languages and I have a great passion for English speaking countries and for travelling in general. Since I was 13 I’ve always been abroad in the summer holidays to learn English. I’ve been to Malta, England, Ireland and Scotland. I also went to Greece and France with my parents. I’m into British culture and I love British lifestyle! While I was in England, in Bedford, I lived with an Italian family who had grandchildren and I used to look after them in the afternoons. They were aged 3, 5, 8 and 13. I was 16 at the time and the family was pleased about my job.

I think I’m suitable to be an au-pair as I love children, playing with them and organizing activities for them. I’ve got a driving licence so driving your children somewhere will not be a problem for me. I can take them to the park, for a walk. I love running and swimming and I practise these sports in my leisure time. I’m willing to do housework if needed and cook simple Italian meals if you want.
