The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I would like to be an au pair because I really enjoy spending time with children and caring for them, whether it is playing a game or helping them with there homework. Little people have such a different perpective on life and I really enjoy seeing life from their eyes.

My Interests:

My childcare experience consits of looking after young children of friends and family since I was 13. For three years I mentored and cared for girls between the ages of 8 - 18 on a regular basis, through opportunities with my church. Also every three months I fly to Adelaide in South Australia to care for three children aged 5 - 13 for a couple of weeks at time. Before I arrive in Ireland in November 2007, I will be volunteering in an orphanage for three months in Ndola, Zambia in Africa. At the orphange I will be assisting with the children's daily living as well as health needs and education. Things I enjoy doing are playing sport, enjoying the outdoors, art and craft, reading a good book, caring and playing with animals as well as learning and experiencing new things. I also enjoy cooking and doing house work. I work as a cardiac intensive care nurse in Australia, which requires that I have a keen eye for detail and also a large element of care and compassion. I believe that my skills as a nurse and also my work ethic of giving 100 percent are an advantage while looking after children.
