The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I was an au- pair before( 2 years in the USA) and it really was the best experience in my I love traveling. I’m interested in the other cultures. I like meeting people from different countries, to learn about variety of the traditions, lifestyles and customs.I would really like to be an au-pair in Italy because I’ve been learning Italian language(it’s still quite basic) and I would love to practice it as I wish to know at lest 2 foreign languages before I start my “grown-up” life. I also really love Italy its culture, customs and food of course.

My Interests:

I am a mixture of many personalities. I am very energetic and active person (my friend always ask me if I can stay still for more than 2 minutes and seriously I can’t) but on the other hand when I do something serious I can be very patient. I am very organized and I love to have everything on the button but as an opposite I also like doing spontaneous and unexpected things and I hate monotony. I am very punctual and I love have everything on time but (what seems strange) I don’t mind waiting for other people. I am very positive person and I smile all the time and I almost never get angry. I am talkative (unfortunately nobody is perfect), very sociable and I make friends very easily .I am very creative and I love to make a stand against new challenges. I like sports especially swimming, gymnastic, volleyball, jogging, ridding a bike and skiing. I also love drawing and painting and all kind of art craft. I enjoy going to theater or cinema and writing stories. I like history and politic a lot. I love going out and meeting new people but sometime I love staying at home with a cup of tea and just read a book or watch some movies.

Dear family My name is Karolina and I come from Poland. I have been studying architecture and I am going to get my bachelor degree in February 2008. I live with my parents and my brother in Katowice which is a big, typical industry city. I was an au-pair for almost 2 years in the USA. First I was taking care of Kate (2) and Sean (12) and after (Kate went to daycare so they didn’t need me full time) I was looking after Alex (7) and Danielle (9).This sammer I am going to bean au-pair in Leeds,UK and I will look afte two boys(7,9).Being an au-pair was the best experience in my life. I had a great time living with both families and spending time with them. Kate was a little sunshine, really joyful and cute. I could spend with her all day and I never felt tired. Sean was very individual and intelligent boy and he was the most polite teenager I’ve ever known. Alex was a little teddy bear .He loved being hugged, he could sit on my labs for hours and he hated staying alone. Danielle was very independent and she was trying not to show her fillings and it wasn’t easy to gain her confidence. As you see I was taking care of many different kids (I was also occasionally baby- sitting many other children in different age) with many different personality and needs but I really enjoyed spending time with all of them. My job wasn't limited only to spending time with children playing, entertaining them with games. My job meant also helping doing homework, teaching them cultural behavior; respect the other people, especially adults. They were also taught how to clean, tidy up and picking up toys after themselves. They learnt how to be responsible, independent and resourceful. My host parents looked on me as a very responsible, reliable, flexible and easy going person. They were very happy with my work, as we cooperated together and supported each other in raising their children. I have had drivers license since 2001 and quite a lot of experience in driving, especially while staying in USA where living without a car is impossible. I feel very comfortable behind the steering wheel. I love traveling. I’m interested in the other cultures. I like meeting people from different countries, to learn about variety of the traditions, lifestyles and customs.
