The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

First of all, I really love kids and I love to travel, so being an au pair would be perfect. I want to understand other places and cultures and I feel that becoming part of a family would be the best way to do so. They say that the best way to learn something is to have to teach it, so I think spending time doing interesting, educational things with kids is the most fun way to gain a better understanding of the rest of the world.

My Interests:

I am 24 years old and I just moved back to the states after two years working at an eco-resort in the US Virgin Islands. I studied psychology for four years at Colorado State University. While I don't yet have a degree, my long term goal is to work with developmentally disabled children. I really love being active outdoors. I also love to read, go to museums and concerts and pretty much anything else that doesn't involve "vegging out," although having lived in the Caribbean, I'm pretty laid back and can relax with the best of them as well. I'm very responsible-I have held assistant manager status at two different departments of the resort I worked at the last two years. One of those departments was housekeeping, so I clearly have no problem with housework. I've also worked at a family fun center where I was responsible for birthday parties involving up to 25 kids, so I'm not afraid of a handful and I can handle stress well. While I do not have any professional nannying experience, I have been babysitting my entire life and I really love kids. I have great references who can attest to my level of responsibility and the fact that I'm very good with kids and truly love spending time with them. Travel is one of my passions and I would love to be able to explore another part of the world as well as develop a relationship with a nice family!
