The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I wish to work as au pair, because I need to support myself and pay the fees of the language course that I will be attending during my staying in Ireland. Above all, I am sure of my background and capacities. In fact, I already have a strong experience with children, having worked, as au pair always in high level families in Italy, several times either when I used to be at the high school or later during my years at the university.

My Interests:

I would be interested in spending a period of six months or more in an Irish family in Dublin city, in order to improve my English and enrol for the Cambridge First Certificate Examination as soon as possible, so that I can go further with my studies and possibly get a Master in Human Resources. As far as my personality is concerned I am an optimistic and open mind person, who loves children and knows how to take care of them. In addition, I may say to be flexible and able to work. Unfortunately I’m allergic to domestic animals.

Dear Family, my name is Alicia Lopes Araujo and I am 34 years old. As you may realize from the longer than usual surname, I am of Capeverdian nationality with a regular permit of stay in Italy, where I have been living, studying and working since I was eight years old, when I reached my mother, who had come to work in Rome, till she retired few years ago. Cape Verde islands, a former Portuguese colony, are in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean between Senegal and Brazil and are now rapidly becoming a tourist spot, where even some Irish entrepreneurs are investing in real estate. Besides, this year I graduated in Literature (Portuguese-English) at the Faculty of Arts of the University Roma Tre. Since I’m not satisfied with my level of English yet, I wish I could spend some months and have a full immersion in the language, which, in my opinion, may only be obtained living daily in a family, apart from following an upper intermediate course of English.
