The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I think its a fantastic exerience for all involved(children,family,au pair): to become accustomed to a new culture through new people and their different ways of living. learning to care about people and live with/work with/relate with people from a different cultural background.

My Interests:

I'm 19, 20 in july '08. Im a happy girl whose good with children and communicating with people. I learn quickly and can adapt and enjoy any situation, particularly when surrounded my other happy people. i enjoy all sports and have played most! My main sport is soccer, but iv played softball,basketball, i danced, will always run or swim, dance or do yoga for other exercise. I love the mountains, going skiing and/or snowboading, and i love the beach!

Dear Family, throughout my adolescence iv had numerous baby sitting jobs. i also coached an under11 girls soccer team (very fun!) ..in my last year of highschool/college i worked throughout the year with a family with 2 children who both attended the junior sect of my school -in essence i would play the role of their mother from after school until about 8 at night: this involved picking them up from school, driving them to and from out-of-school commitments, afterschool snacks at home, room-tidying, playing, helping with homework etc.etc. .. i enjoy spending time playing or helping kids to learn new things! With a live-in position as an au pair i think it is ideal as it allows everyone involved to develop actual relationships with one another. i feel i can easily adapt to new environments, and would enjoy adapting to any new family, home, culture .. Above all, for me to join a family, to live with temporarily, to live, relate and share life with both children and parents: i would only hope for one thing: that they are happy people- then i think anything based on these grounds would be enjoyable and successful for everyone. Im in the middle of my studies at the Australian National University, heading towards a degree in international relations, i study politics, european history, psychology and, sociology and italian ..i really enjoy all of these subjects. I'd like to take a year away from academia and learn more about the italian culture first hand. i have years of babysitting experience which i undertook throughout my adoloscent years, as well as unofficial time spent caring for my cousins young children throughout the ages of 1 to 8 ..i really enjoy and find it easy to spend time, also care and teach children - i also coached an under11 girls soccer team: although a career in childcare is not my aspirations for life. The au pair concept to me is fantastic! i see it as a wonderful experience for all involved to learn more of another culture and language, as well as the valuable life skills of learning to adapt with new and different people and creating a managing and happy environment together. For hobbies i enjoy all sports. My main sport has always been soccer, which i have played since the age of 5. But i also played softball, some basketball, i dance, also run, swim and do yoga for other exercise. I enjoy painting and drawing, most types of music (aside from the heavy metal/aggressive genres) . I love spending time in the mountains, i snowboard and ski, and i love the seaside and beach! My upbringing has left me now enthusiastic to learn, travel and get to know as many different types of people as i can. I think any type of experience can be a great one, if the people envolved are happy to be sharing it together - which may be transformed into my one and only request that i have for any family and that is that i would hope that you categorize yourselves as 'happy people'. It may seem a strange thing to note: but moving to live, work, share my self and life with unhappy people is not the experience i am looking for. i know that i am able and willing to adapt to any new home, cultural, living conditions.. i can learn the responcibilities required of me very quickly and be a very responsible and caring au pair for your children and hopefully a friend for all of the family.
