DEAR HOST FAMILY, My name is Caroline, but everybody calls me Carol. I’m eighteen and half years old. I’m from Brazil, very beautiful country with very warming people. I live in Bauru, a pretty nice city, which is about three hours to São Paulo city. I’m a talkative, easygoing and outgoing person and I have lots os friends. I graduated from high school last year , my driver’s license as well. I enjoy reading, watching movies and listening to music. I live with my mom and my brother. We live in a house with our two dogs, Brad and Asthor, which are kind of part of our family. My mom, Luciana is a school principal in a city close to Bauru, and my brother, Neto, is a freshmam student. He is 15 and we’re great friends, we always go out together. Me and my mom get along fine too. We like to do lots of stuff together, like going to the movies or the shopping mall and We clear our house together. I really like when we go out for a pizza, it’s really cool because Neto goes with us and we really have fun. My dad, Junior, doesn’t live with us because they are divorced. This was never a problem to me, since we also are good friends. We always travel to the beach together, and it is really great. My Daily routine is pretty much like this: three days a week I study English with a private teacher. The other two days a go to a preparatory course to journalism university. In the afternoon, I go to a school for children who are between one and five years-old. There, I play with the kids and help with the activities, such as, changing diapers, preparing the boottles, going to the playground, helping them in the classroom, etc. At night, I go to the gym, twice a week and the other three days I go to a Nanny Course where I’ve been learning about children nutrition, higiene, health and child safety, child development, interaction dimension between the nanny and the child, and other things related the child. Since my sixteen years-old I work as nanny, this year, I took care of two kids , Ana Clara, 6 years-old, and João Vitor, 2 years-old. I just loved being with them. João is a very cute boy who really enjoyed my company. I used to prepaire his meals, play with him and historys, teel him fairy tales and put him sleep. Ana Clara is more funny and enjoy playing with her doll, making believe stories and going for a ride on her bike. We used to have a lots of fun and we sure had a wonderful time together! Being with kids is something I really like too. I could even say it’s one of the things I like most. I think that’s because since I was a little girl I used to see my mom taking care of children as well. I’m a very patient and dedicated person to them. I have eight cousins youngers, We enjoy spending our vacations time at our grandpa’s ranch. We swim, play soccer and go horse back ridding there. It’s very cool. My youngest cousin, Pedro, is my Godson. He’s four years-old and I love him very much and we always go to the zoo together, because he loves animals. I think The Exchange Program is a good way of learning more about your culture and of different people too, but most of all, it will give us the opportunity of swapping, confidence, help and affection.
