The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I love working with children and as soon as I graduate this May I am going to be a teacher, so this will be a perfect transition into that! Being an Au Pair also gives me the opportunity to learn about another culture and use those experiences to help hone my teaching skills in the future.

My Interests:

My name is Jaimie and I am a Senior at Nazareth College in Rochester New York. I am a Psychology with Inclusive Education Major. I am going to receive a Quad Certification in Teaching upon graduatin this May. My Certification will be for grades 1st-5th, 1st-5th Special Education, 5-9th, and 5th-9th Special Education. This past fall I completed two different Student Teaching placements. My first Placement was in an inner city High school in Rochester NY working with 14-17 year olds. My second Placement was in Newport Wales, UK working with 4 and 5 year olds. I currently babysit for a family that has a 2 year old, 4 year old, 6 year old and 7 year old. Also I work as a tutor for high school students. I love to play sports I have played them all of my life soccer, basketball, and track. My hometown is on Long Island in New York. It is a seven hour drive from my University so I don't get to go home much. But it shows that I am fully capable of being away from home for a long period of time. I have a wonderful and caring family comprised of my parents, three sisters and two brothers. I am the youngest girl and the fifth child. I wouldn't trade them for the world. My friends would say I am very outgoing. I am also very energetic and up for trying new things. I am very hard working and responsible. I am also very patient which is a very important skill while working with children. Lastly, I am very creative and love finding new ways to incorporate fun into learning.

Dear Family, My name is Jaimie MacDonald. I am currently attending University Nazareth College of Rochester in New York and will graduate in May with four teaching certifications. I will be certified to teach children ages 6 to about 15 and special education. Right now I also tutor students attending inner city schools in Rochester NY. There is a family nearby to my University that I babysit for sometimes, that family consists of 2, 4, 6 and 7 year olds. This past fall I student taught in a high school nearby and then in October I student taught in Newport Wales, where I was in a reception classroom. I absolutely love working with children and I enjoy thinking of new and creative ways to spark their learning. I will attach a copy of my resume so that you can see more of what I do. I have played sports all of my life, especially soccer and basketball. I also ran track for a long time as well. I love to stay active and enjoy the outdoors. I have been a lifeguard for the past three consecutive summers at a beach nearby to my house on Long Island. When I am not doing school work or working, I often go to the movies with my friends, relax, go shopping, go for walks on the canal nearby, anything to just get away from the books for a while and have fun. I go to University seven hours away from home, so I can definitely adapt to being away. I have a wonderful family, and they support me in my every endeavor. My family consists of my two parents and my five siblings. I have three sisters and two brothers. We are all very close and I talk to them all of the time. My older brother just recently had a baby girl who is 7 weeks old. She is absolutely adorable. I am a very hardworking, motivated, caring and responsible person.
