The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I love children, and greatly miss the kids I watch back home in America. It would be great to spend time with little ones during my study abroad experience, and also give me a taste of family life in Australia for the time I am here.

My Interests:

I am an overseas student at the University of Melbourne this semester, originally from Michigan, United States. I am studying English, Communications, and Management- with the intentions of writing childrens literature and owning a summer camp one day. Kids really are my passion. At home, I have worked at summer camps, church nursery, and teach sunday school for 4-5 year olds. During the school year, I babysit regularly for three different families, with kids ranging from 2 years (but this little guy has a baby brother now, who will be 6 months old when I get back home) to 12 years old. I am a very active person who loves to be outdoors and around people. When I babysit older children, I love to invent exciting games or play sports and work on big projects. With the younger ones, we usually love dancing and creating our own worlds with arts and crafts. And I have loads of experience with babies, so they do not intimidate me and I am quite comfortable with them. I can even handle cloth diapers! Though you might not think I would be a candidate to watch your kids because I will not be here long (I fly home at the end of June), or because I may not be able to work some weekends because I am trying to see as much of Australia as I can while I am here--- I GUARANTEE that I would offer your kids the babysitting experience of their lives, all the while keeping things neat and tidy and even educational most of the time!

Dearest of Families- Could you help me out here? I am a study abroad student who greatly misses her babysitting charges back home in Michigan. I would love to spend my extra time and energy caring for your kids! If the kids I watch in the States could tell you about me, they would say I invent the silliest funnest games and they wish they could skip nap time so they would have more time with me! Their parents would say I am responsible, enthusiastic, creative and that I bring out the best in their kids. So, my future family, I would love to get off the University of Melbourne's campus for a day or two during the week to spend time with your children.
