The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I believe my constant day-to-day experience with children and household running including cooking and housework, as well as my tutoring, would make me a valuable Au Pair. I would love to immerse myself in other cultures and broaden my mind and life experience. I am extremely enthusiastic, open-minded and adaptable, and am very excited to experience life within a new family and country or area.

My Interests:

I will be eighteen years old in January 2009. This year, I expect to recieve extremely high results in my Higher School Certificate, as well as completing a TESOL Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages course. As well as school, I work part-time and also tutor children from 5 to 15 years old in English. My time spent assisting in the running of our household Day Care Centre has given me an extensive knowledge of the day-to-day needs of children, and both this and my tutoring have given me a desire to both care for and learn from children. I have a European/ Australian and a New Zealand Maori background, and so understand the needs of those with cultural heritage. I have travelled to many places in my life enough to give me the travelling 'bug'! and have a fierce desire to experience more. I love people, and enjoy travelling, reading, cooking, arts and crafts, writing, public speaking, dancing, and acting. I am an extremely happy person! I believe the key to moving forward in life is always being willing to learn, and to laugh at yourself before anybody else

My name is Kelsey and I am an exuberant Australian girl looking to become an Au Pair after I complete my high school degree. I am very outgoing and keen to learn from other cultures and people! While my varied life experiences have given me maturity, I am extremely enthusiastic about trying new things. I have studied Child Studies, Community and Family Studies, and First Aid during my time at school. I have also spent five years assisting my mother in running a home-based day care centre, and so am very experienced in managing the needs of a household and children, as well as being an enthusiastic foster sister to the foster children that pass through our home.
