The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

Not only do I love children, but I have extensive child care experience. I attained my Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance CSIA Level One and my Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors CASI Level One and have taught ski and snowboard lessons for the past five years at a private ski club. I normally taught groups of 4-6 children aged 4-8. Additionally, I obtained a Standard First Aid with CPR "C" certification and passed the National Lifeguard Service NLS exams. For the past two summers I worked as a lifeguard and instructed swimming lessons at a community pool. I have references for these positions upon request. I have a sister who is nine months old, so I have experience with young children as well. I worked as an Au Pair a few summers ago in the Eastern part of Canada. For a few weeks I was responsible for two children, aged three and six. This was an amazing experience and I am excited to try it again. The family I stayed with was great and they are happy to provide a reference if needed. I speak English fluently and I have also been taking Introduction to French courses in University. I would love the opportunity to either practice my French or learn another language, as well as learn about a different culture.

My Interests:

In addition to my love for children, I also love the outdoors and am very active. I enjoy long-distance running, tennis, swimming, skiing and snowboarding. As well as being a straight A student in high school and university, I am involved extensively within my school and community. I volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society and organized an overnight event called "Relay for Life" to benefit cancer research. My school raised over $50,000 for this remarkable cause. Within student government, I was responsible for planning a number of different events including semi-formals and my high school's Prom. My involvement in these activities shows my initiative and dedication.
