The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I am relocating to Stavanger in mid-September, 2008 and I would absolutely love to become a nanny for a warm, inviting family. I have worked as a live-out nanny for the past 5 years while in college at the University of North Carolina Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina, United States. I have traveled to Spain and Italy and I am looking forward to experiencing Norway. I have extensive experience working with school age children through nannying, babysitting, afterschool programs, tutoring, and summer camp counseling. I love children because it is through their eyes that one sees a pure truth and innocence that is rarely found in adults. While children are most definitely challenging, they are a joy to work with and they brighten my life.

My Interests:

I am college graduate with a B.A in World Literature with minor concentrations in Spanish and Sociology. I have completed two years in AmeriCorps, which is PeaceCorps program domestic to the United States. I completed over 2000 hours of community service working with at-risk youth and literacy. I am looking for a nanny position in Stavanger beginning in September because through the summer I will be working at a summer camp in New Hampshire, USA as the Operations Director. I have a passion for the outdoors--whether it be hiking, biking, running, swimming, etc. I love it all. I also am an avid reader of fiction and the New York Times. I enjoy great food and time with friends and family. I am very close with my friends and family, but because I attended college over eight hours away from home, I am used to being separated by distance from them. I grew up with artistic parents and have been musically trained since age three. I play the piano and the clarinet. I have a deep appreciation for the arts and humanities and find their importance to be growing everyday.

I am an extremely qualified young woman who is very flexible and easy-going. I am CPR, First Aid, BSAC-Basic School Age Care, Shelter Operations, and Wilderness Medicine certified.
