The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I would like to be an aupair for the same reason as everyone else - I LOVE children! I am hoping to become a child psychologist and I feel that being an aupair would give me some more experience with kids. I love being goofy and playing games, but I can also appreciate quiet time and responsiblity.

My name is Jessica and I'm 18 years old from Ottawa, Canada. I beleive I am a genuinely nice, down-to-earth and outgoing person who isn't afraird to try new things. I love kids and babies animals included! and have a passion for child psychology, which I am aspiring to be. I am in my first year of university at the University of Ottawa majoring in this. I love to play sports, keep active and be silly, but I also know the importance of quiet time and seriousness. I beleive that I have good morals and values, and I would love to experience a new part of the world. I love to clean and keep things tidy and in order, as weird as that may sound, so messy environments don't suit me too well! I have had type 1 diabetes since I was 11 years old and am managing it well. I beleive that this has shed some light on the small but valuable things in life. I was forced to grow up as a young age, but I think that this has helped me understand the world a little bit better. I have a lot more patience for everything and I am concious of small but important details. Currently, I am working in a foster home and babysitting various families. In my foster home, I look after 4 children ages 6-11. I babysit one family about twice a week who have a 1 yo girl and a 3 yo boy, and another family about 2-3 times a month who have a 5 yo girl and a 7 yo boy. I play an active role in helping out with my community and volunteering as I beleive it enables me to gain experience and explore new opportunities. I have worked at 2 summer camps in the past, including one for children with diabetes. I am very responsible, understanding and a fun-loving person who would provide for your children and family together!
