The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I want to be an Au Pair to get to see a new place in the world, while still working with kids. I have a degree in elementary primary education, and I would miss working with kids if I did something without them for too long. Au Pairing seemed like the best of both worlds.

My Interests:

I love to travel, cook, hang out with friends, go sailing, read, and sing loudly in the car. I tried surfing once with an ex-boyfriend and he was an awful teacher, but I'd love to try it again sometime, it always looks like such fun.

Dear Family, Hi! My name is Joanna and I am currently living in the United States, right outside of Washington D.C. I just graduated from University with a degree in Elementary Primary Education. This past year, instead of classes, I student taught in a third grade classroom, my students were about 8 years old. After that, I took a long term substitute job at the same school that I student taught at. I substituted in a first grade classroom my students were about 6. I was there for 5 weeks while their regular teacher was out on maternity leave. I have been a Summer Nanny in the USA since I was 16 years old, and have loved every minute of it. I have a resume and references from families I have nannied for, as well as from my time teaching. I do not smoke, and have a valid US drivers license. I have a valid FBI background check, and am willing to have another one done, if you would like. I decided after graduating that before I settled down in the USA, I wanted to travel a bit and have some new experiences, and have heard so many positive things about Australia that it was an easy choice to look there.
