The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I'd like to be a governess first of all because I really enjoy being with children. I think they are open, frank, curious, creative, fun, joyful... adults can learn a lot from children. I also like being part of a family. It makes me feel good to have a role in a family, to contribute to the whole. I would make a good "big sister." I want to work in France because I want to work on my French and because it's a beautiful place with culture and tolerance and grace.

My Interests:

I plan to come to France in mid to late February 2009 probably the 22nd. I am planning a trip to southeast Asia with a friend of mine right before that, so my schedule is more or less set. About the wages, I would really like to earn at least 100 Euros a week because I have college loans to pay, and I will need to save up for a plane ticket to wherever I go after France. So I hope that's ok. But about me: I love learning new things and I'm a fast learner. I spent a year in China so that I could learn about their culture and people and language. I really liked doing that. I studied Spanish in high school and German for one year at the university, and then French for 3 1/2 years at the university too. My specialization was psychology. I also like science and art a lot. I like doing outdoor things like going exploring and hiking and canoeing and camping and such. I'm an observant person. I listen to criticism. I like to help people, and I'm really quirky and have a childlike spirit. I'm a pretty good cook. I like to experiment with different ingredients and spices.. I don't usually go by the recipe.
