I have a degree in Business Administration. Since 2006, I’ve been working at the Legal Department. I am organized and efficient. I am responsible for scheduling all payments, organizing files and providing any support the legal counsels need. I love music. I enjoy singing! I started learning how to play the guitar but had to stop for a while because I did not have the time for practicing but I can play clarinet and I take part in the church choir. I have rehearsals weekly. I love travelling, going out with my family/friends for playing bowling, going to the movies and parks. I like sports, especially swimming and football. Most of all, I really love children and always have a lot of fun playing with my baby sister. In my free time, I help my mother, I read books and the holy bible, I go to the movies, the shopping mall, the parks, museums, etc.

Dear Host Family My name is Thais Mendes. I´m 23 years old. I live in São Paulo, Brazil, with my famly: my mother Aliomar, 44 y.o., my stepfather Enoch, 43 y.o., my brother Thiago, 26 y.o. and my sister Nathalia, 10 y.o.. My family is very happy, funny and supportive. We are very connected, united as a team. We help each other and have a lot of fun together. We travel often to the countryside. We play games, football and volleyball. I especially love to stay in the swimming pool with my sister, she loves water and me too. When I didn´t work I helped my mother to take care of my sister. Today she is 10 years old and I still help with her homework. We are also religious and go to the church together. My family gave education, principles and good values. I love music. I enjoy singing! My experience started in the church, when I was 15 years old so so. I taught Bible lessons and I was in charge of rehearsing children for Christmas play and the choir for Sunday mass. I gave classes for 10 children or more. Different groups, different ages. From 2-5 years old, 6-9 years old and 10-12 years old. Children at 6-9 years were more demanding. I worked hard. I also rehearsed music with the children too – a group of more or less 25/30 children with ages from 2 to 12 years old. My last work with children was the Christmas presentation in December, 2007. I think it is a pleasure to work with children, because they reward us with one simple and sincere smile. Children are very honest and lovely and always pay people with love and affection. I would like to be an au pair for the opportunity of being around with children while improving my English. Speaking English fluently is very important for having a career and better job chances in Brazil. I am sure that experiencing the language in the United States in a family will make a lot of difference to my life when I come back to Brazil. I am sure I´ll be a very good au pair. I´ll take care of your chidren as I do for my sister/my brother. I’m responsible, patient, happy, honest and hard working. If you wish, I will be glad to participate in all children’s daily activities and the family’s activities too. I know a little music and I love math. I can help them with their homework and school tasks. I can play with them, take them to school, prepare their meals, bath and put them in bed. I am very reliable. Family can count on me. I’m prepared. I would like you to know that I do not drive very often because I do not own a car. Anyway, before going to the USA, I will take extra driving classes and practice in automatic cars. I am planning to rent a car for one month. I hope to find one good host family. I know that Brazilian and American cultures are different and differences will be good for my personal and professional formation. I’m looking forward to being an au pair next year January,2009. I hope that it will be the best experience of my life. I will work a lot but also study English, your culture and get to know different places. I think we´ll have a great time together.
