The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I am studying in Madrid to become a nurse, and I am hoping to become an Au Pair to better integrate into the Madrilenian culture, but furthermore, to become a part of a family here! I would like to be able to practice my Spanish skills with the parents, and to teach the children English. I absolutely love children! I babysat all of the time when I was home, and miss doing so now that I am here in Madrid.

My Interests:

I am 22 years old and from New Jersey. I have already completed four years of college and obtained a dual-degree in Spanish and Philosophy/Religion, with a minor concentration in Biology. Now, I am pursuing another degree from Saint Louis University so that I can become a nurse. It is an international program, so two years are based in Madrid, and one in St. Louis, Missouri. I am a very warm and friendly person, and family is very important to me! I am very close with both of my parents as well as my younger sister, who is 18. When I am home from school, I appreciate spending time with them as well as my pets dogs, cats, and more!. I also like to spend time with my friends, and some families whose children I have been babysitting for many years since they were babies!

Hello! I am a 22-year-old female from the United States. I am currently a student of Saint Louis University in Madrid for the 2008-2009 academic year, studying to become a nurse. I am living with a host senora at the time, but would like to Au Pair for a Spanish family living in Madrid, ideally starting in January, 2009 and ending in June, 2009. I have a lot of experience working with children. I have been babysitting for over 11 years, from short-term jobs to overnight positions. I have worked with children of all ages, from newborn to teenager, and absolutely love children! I have developed very close relationships with several different families in my community, and love playing with the children and acting like a "big sister" or friend to them. I have also been a tutor for several years in a variety of subjects, so I could help your children with their homework too, if they need assistance. Additionally, I am a swimming instructor lifeguard-certified and have been teaching children to swim for nearly 10 years. I also hold several medical certifications. I am an Emergency Medical Technician EMT and am trained in CPR and medical care. I also have experience with disabled children and those with medical conditions. If you have pets, that is only a plus, as I love animals. I am a non-smoker and a vegetarian no meat, no fish. My main hobbies include taking care of children, dance, and being with my family and friends. I also like to listen to music and read, when I have time. I am a very neat and organized person and would not mind helping with some household chores. Though I am not fluent in Spanish, I have been studying it for many years and am familiar with the language, but I am striving to improve my skills!
