The Reasons I Want To Be An Au Pair:

I'm taking a gap year before college and would love to live in a different country and learn about a different culture. I would also like to become fluent in French, si possible. I live working with kids, so I thought being an au pair would be a great opportunity.

My Interests:

Hello, my name is Margo. I will be graduating from high school this spring and am looking for an au pair job abroad for the summer 2009, maybe extended to January of 2010. I love playing with kids. I have had a lot of experience babysitting with different families and kids of different age groups. I love to travel, experience different cultures, and learn new languages I can speak a little Arabic, Wolof, and Pulaar in addition to French and English. During the school year I volunteer at a hospital and babysit. I am also involved in a charity called Operation smile. I went on a two-week medical mission to the Philippines with the organization. While there, I played with kids who were getting surgeries, taught dental hygiene, good nutrition, and burn care/prevention. I am a good student, with a 4.0 GPA. I'm thinking of studying to become a doctor in college/university. I'm interested in art and sewing. I like skiing and playing volleyball. I am creative and energetic, but also mature and responsible. I have a fairly quiet demeanor, and am very laid-back and relaxed. I would love to work and play with some fun kids this summer! I have babysat for the same family for three years. The family has three kids, one girl and 2 boys, aged 5-12. I have also babysat occasionally for a three year old girl. In addition, I help two boys, aged 5 and 7, with homework afterschool twice a week for 1.5 hours.
