What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

We need a housekeeper/au pair to run the house with some collecting children from school, help in school holidays etc.. Could have every Saturday and Sunday free. We would need 25 -30 hours a week an average of 5.5 hours a day, plus two evenings per week on average babysitting. On the days when we didn’t need any help with childcare you would be welcome to do your 5 hours any time before 4pm. Accommodation and food are included, and we would pay up to £70 per week on top of that. For the right person I think we could offer a great home environment. I am going back to work in the Autumn and Steve my husband and I are trying to work things so that he mostly takes the children to school in the morning and I work 7am-3pm so I mostly get back to collect the children. During term time most of the job will be running the home - cleaning, tidying, washing & ironing, shopping, cooking for the whole family about twice a week and just for the children about twice a week. Both of our jobs will involve some earlier starts / later evenings on occasion so will sometimes need you to give the children breakfast and take them to school, and sometimes collect them from school and give them tea or take them to their after-school clubs, as well as two evenings a week babysitting. There are about 15-20 days in the year during the school holiday weeks where we will both be working we will need childcare 8.30am-3.30pm but not more than three of these days in a week. We would need you to be available 8.30-3.30pm at short notice if a child was off sick from school, but would make sure that you had those hours in lieu the following week etc.. Our children are great fun and very loving and creative. We would make you very welcome and would respect your time off. On the days when we didn’t need any help with childcare you would be welcome to do your 5.5 hours any time before 4pm. Occasionally Steve or I not both! will be away for a few days with work. We might need you to work a bit extra on those weeks, but would make sure that you got the hours off the following week. We will try to be flexible to accommodate any interests/hobbies that you have.

Family Description:

We are a friendly family, we live in lovely house near Oxford, and are practising Christians. Our children are Iliana girl who will be 8 in August, Jared boy who will be 6 in June and Scarlett girl who will be 4 in May. They are fun, creative and affectionate. Please note that we have a self-contained flat at the top of the house which is used by friends who need somewhere to stay. You would NOT be required to look after the flat!

Au Pair Letter:

We live in a large 350 year old farmhouse. There is a bus into Oxford every 15 minutes or so. There are shops, a gym, netball and running clubs in the village, doctors surgery, pubs and a couple of restaurants. There are about 5,000 people in the village so it's more like a small town really. In Oxford 20 minutes away there are loads of language schools, shops, restaurants, museums, cafes, churches, cinemas etc.. We are used to having people living with us and could offer an enormous double room with stereo, desk etc., and access to a room with TV, DVD and computer, which you could have for sole use in the evenings if you wanted - or you could join us in the other sitting room if you prefer.
