What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

It is critical to us that an au pair lovongly care for our three year-old son. This includes taking him to and from school, taking him to activities, and playing with him, reading him books and introducing him to new things. We would really value creativity! Our son is smart, verbal and eager to learn about and talk about and do new things. We do not permit much TV or computer use at our home for our son at this point. We feel that he is very young and will want TV soon enough.... he already has a favorite show or two. The au pair would also take care of his room and laundry and help us to keep our home in order by assisting with light cleaning, such as sweeping, dusting, organizing, assisting with laundry and dinners.

Family Description:

Our family consists of my husband and I, our three year old son, and our five year old dog. We live 25 minutes from NYC by train in a wonderful suburb of NYC. Our son is verbal, creative, active and very happy. He loves to be outdoors and to read books, play with blocks/cars, etc. He is beginning to appreciate sports and often requests to play soccer, baseball or basketball. He is trying his best! My husband and I both work outside the home. I am a psychologist and work as a professor at a local university and also have private patients. My husband is a lawyer and is an adminstrator at a local law school.
