What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

What we expect from you is to be a responsible, fun, open-minded and easy-going person. Also we expect you to be a person who love kids and who love playing with them, because this is what you’d really have to do. Speaking some Spanish is not essential, but it’d be very good if could speak it a little bit, as Estrella don’t speak English well, and I won’t be always around. During your stay, you will become part of our family, so you will be invited to join us everywhere we go restaurants, cinema, zoo, amusement park…. if you feel like it. We don't expect you to help us with our new son, Victor. You will have plenty of time. Our kids will go to School from 9:00am to 5:00pm, and they are supposed to be sleeping before 9:30pm although sometimes we go out to have dinner to a terrace and we stay longer with the kids. Unless you feel more comfortable with a timetable, we don’t plan you to have it. We think we will only need your help some evenings from Monday to Friday, but maybe we could ask you the favour of helping us one day some weekends. In the same way, if you need any afternoon free, there won’t be any problem. We will give you a Spanish cell phone, so you can always call us if you need anything when you are not with us, and your family can call you anytime. The most important thing for us, is that you really like what you are going to do. Otherwise, it is not going to work. If you need to know anything else, don’t hesitate to call us or e-mail us we will call you if you want. I’m sure you will love staying with us.

Family Description:

My name is Angel. I work in a Spanish multinational. I speak fluent English, although it’s not perfect at all. My wife, Estrella, speaks only basic English, but she can understand it if you don't speak too fast. We have three kids, although you'll mailny help us taking care of the two eldest. Our daughter Rebeca is 5 years old, our son Sergio is 3 years old, and the New Member of the family, Victor, was born on May 12th, 2008. Sergio and Rebeca are "studying" in a bilingual Spanish-English school, although their level is very low yet. We think that having a native English speaking au paur staying with us, will help our kids to improve it. On the other side, now that our Family has grown, we have another reason to ask you for some help with the kids specially with Sergio and Rebeca. We live in a four-story house in Alcorcon, a city that it’s only 20 minutes away from the centre of Madrid by public transportation. It’s really like living in Madrid. You’d be very comfortable at home, as you’d live in the penthouse, with your own bedroom with a TV, a DVD Player, and a computer with a broadband wireless connection and a webcam so you can easily stay in touch with your friends and Family. You will also have your own full bathroom. We have a swimming pool shared with a few more neighbours, that is open from June to September. Sergio is a very affectionate and fun boy. Rebeca is a little bit more reserved at first. They are very happy and they really get along well. We are sure you’ll become good friends as soon as you play with them. Madrid is a real nice and fun city. During summer it’s very warm and the days are very long. We have lots of friends and family living near us, and we often go to have lunch or dinner to someone’s place. You will really get to know the Spanish way of life if you decide to join us. We want you to become a member of our family during your stay. You'll feel at home.
