What We Expect From Our Au Pair:
|
The girls are on the whole able to look after themselves, eg dress themselves, bath themselves and get themselves ready for school. I need an Au-Pair to take them and collect them from school, take them to their clubs and activities and look after them during holidays. There will be some general housework required such as washing, ironing, vaccuming, dusting and help to prepare dinner. This will not take up a large amount of your day and you will have plenty of free time or time to study. I do sometimes have to work late and would need you to babysit at these times. However, this should not amount to two evenings per week on a regular basis, but may be occasionally required to be so. Weekends and evenings apart from occasional included babysitting will be your own.
I am looking for somebody who is able to be confident and undertake activities etc with children of their own accord. Entertain them during the holidays and take them for days out to the park etc. £75 per week, plus the use of the car, your own room with TV, DVD player and stereo including food etc is what the pocket money includes.

Family Description:
|
Aimee
Aimee is 14 and a bright girl who enjoys going out with her friends. She is just starting to find her feet and go out after school on her bike or running with friends. She enjoys school and always ensures that she is up on time and ready to go. She is a great help around the house and will make the sandwiches and lunches for the younger one’s school lunches, sort out the dishwasher, she keeps her own room tidy and changes her own bed. She loves to watch DVD’s and listen to her music. One of her favourite evenings is to have her friends sleep over and have loads of DVD’s and chocolate in her room to share. She experiments with makeup, hair and has just started to colour her hair!!! She will often cook tea as she enjoys this and is very good at making cups of coffee!! She takes the role of big sister.
Amber
Amber is 10 years old she is 11 in August, when you arrive she will already be 11. She is an activie girl but also enjoys the quieter things such as arts and crafts, knitting, sewing and colouring. She tends to enjoy things that need to be made and will often make paper chains etc. She amuses herself quite a lot of the time. She enjoys to read and relax in her room. She is very different from the other two in that she is much quieter, but has a great sense of what is fair and what is unfair. She is starting at the big school in September for 11 – 16 years. This is going to be a new experience for her, so to have someone who can encourage her through this is a great help.
Libby
Although Libby is 8, she is the baby of the family. Sometime she finds it hard that the others are able to do things without her. However, most of the time she is a good girl, but enjoys playing tricks on people!!!! She is also a keen arts and crafts person. Both her and Amber attend an Arts and Crafts club after school on a Wendesday and Thursday. Libby also attends an Irish Dancing class after school on a Monday.
There is lots of running around with the girls, which is why I need a driver. Although the walk to school only takes about 25 minutes, it is easier to drive and much nicer in the winter to be in the dry than in the wet!! You will have access to the car during the time you are here. I will cover the fuel costs, but if you want to go for long distances at the weekend, this would be at your own cost to replace the petrol used.
I myself am 42 years old 43 in August. I am currently undertaking my social worker degree and work as a supervisor of foster parents for a fostering organisation. I used to be a foster parent so I am very experienced at having different people living in my home. I enjoy eating out, going out with my friends, spending time with the girls, going for picnics, bowling, cinema and enjoying days out to the beach when the weather is nice.
I often spend my evenings studying or catching up on work, so usually do not go to bed until quite late. Therefore if you wish to go out in the evenings there is no worries about what time you wish to be home.
We live in Gravesend which is in Kent. Gravesend is located about 25 miles from London and takes 35-40 minutes on the train and to drive. We are also located 10 minutes from the new Ebbsfleet International Railstation, which allows access to Paris in 2 hours or London in 15 minutes.

Au Pair Letter:
|
Hi there,
I am glad that you have shown an interest in my family’s vacancy for an Au-Pair. I currently have an Au-pair who is French and has been here for the summer. She is returning at the end of August to return to University in France. I therefore need a new Au-pair from September. I have three girls aged 14 in June of this year, 10 11 in August 2008 and 8 9 in January 2009. Their names are Aimee, Amber and Libby.

Although Gravesend is a large town, we live on the edge of it so we have the benefit of having access to the town and the countryside if we want it. There are multiplex cinemas nearby, bowling, restaurants, ice-skating and Bluewater shopping centre. At Bluewater there are loads of restaurants, a boating lake part and cycling rides.
Near to Gravesend are many historical towns such as Rochester, Canterbury and historical sites such as Hever Castle, Dover Castle and seaside towns such as Hastings and Brighton. Maidstone which is a large town is about 20 minutes away and has loads of parks lake and activities.
Kent is known as the Garden of England and there are many museums etc that you will be able to see the historic way of England. The Brands Hatch Grand Prix site is also not far from where we Often on a Sunday morning we may decide to go to a boot fair – this is where people turn up in their cars, put a table up and sell things that they do not want any more. It is often a day out for the children and they use their pocket money to buy all sorts of little things.
I have attached a couple of photos – I admit not the most recent ones, but it will give you an idea of us and what we look like.
However, you need to know that I am a single parent, this is because my husband died in January 2008. This has been a difficult time for the girls but they have been very good about things and have adjusted to their new circumstances very well. There are times where they get a little bit tearful, and at these times they need a special cuddle.

We are an easy going family, who are relaxed and laid back. However, I expect the girls to show respect to everyone.
I hope that we are of interest to you. I am looking for an Au-Pair to stay as long as possible, so that the girls can have some consistency. Ideally at least 12 months but longer if you are able to.
Please do let me know if you would like to come and live with us and be part of our family.
We look forward to hearing from you. Please let the agency know if you would like to contact us With kind wishes
