What We Expect From Our Au Pair:
|
We'd like you to spend time with our children, playing, reading to them, maybe cooking & baking. This is our biggest priority & we'll ask you to also help to keep their rooms clean & tidy, wash their clothes & help with general meal preparation. We hope that you'll be independent and able to plan and organise activities, both for the children and for yourself in your free time.

Family Description:
|
We are a family who enjoy spending time together. Our children are still young but we plan to home educate them and we all enjoy learning things together. We have both been stay-at-home parents since our son was born three years ago and although he attended a childminder part-time, he now only attends a playgroup on two mornings a week. We socialise a lot and mix with other home educators so we're far from being a stay-in-the-home family! We are expecting our third child in March 2009 & would really like someone who'll stay with us over that period to give the children some continutity. We won't ask you to take care of the baby except to offer him or her some cuddles if you'd like to!

Au Pair Letter:
|
Dear Au Pair
We've just read your profile & we'd be very interested in chatting to you about becoming our au pair. We run a business editing a magazine from home as well as working part-time outsdie the home and we need to spend some time devoted to our businesses, which is hard when we have children who are such great fun to be with! So we'd like to find an au pair who's keen to become part of our family. You'll need to enjoy taking part in different activities with our children and helping them discover the world for themselves. We'd really like you to want to spend time with us during the day although your free time will always be your own and you'll be free to socialise, explore the area, etc. In the evenings, we ask you to entertain yourself so that we can spend some time alone together. You have a TV & DVD player in your room.
Our business has peaks and troughs so some weeks will be busier than others. When we have free time, we like to spend it with the children. If you're happy to be flexible, so are we! This doesn't mean that we'd ask you to work more than your agreed hours - it means we may give you a day off at short notice if we're free or invite you to come along on a family day out. We won't ask too much in the way of housework - helping the kids to tidy their rooms, washing their clothes & helping to prepare meals as wll as some hoovering & light cleaning. It would be great if you could babysit on one or two evenings & you may be able to earn some extra pocket money babysitting for some of our friends.
We live in a small village outside Cambridge which has plenty going on. We have 2 cars so you would have use of a car when you need it and Cambridge is really busy with all kinds of international activities.
We really want to find someone who will become part of our family. We're looking for an au pair who can start around between November & January and stay at least until the summer.
We're looking for someone confident and enthusiastic with a sense of fun, ideally someone with plenty of ideas for entertaining children. We look forward to welcoming you into our family.
Best wishes
