Family Description:

Both parents work full time. Paddy is a doctor, Jane is a partner in incoming tour operator company. Our sons are Paddy 10 years and Tom 8 years. Two fun loving, energetic boys who enjoy sport, the outdoors and also creative play - drawing, lego etc. We live in the countryside in a large house, 3kms from the nearest village. The house has a large garden area, all weather tennis court and is surrounded by fields, trees. We have a lake and river on our property. We feel it is important that our future au pair would enjoy countrylife, animals and have an interest in sport - football, tennis, swimming or other.

Au Pair Letter:

We are the Molony Family and we live close to the small town of Athboy in County Meath, Ireland. We have a large country house with plenty of space for children to run and play. Surrounded by fields, woods, river and lake, we are located in peaceful, quiet surroundings. We have 2 dogs – Sarah and Henry and our latest addition is a small kitten - Wobbles. All of our pets are outdoor pets and don’t live in the house. The area we live in is a farming area. Closest town is Athboy which is 3 kms away. Trim, the historical capital of Meath, is 8 kms away. Dublin is 50 kms from our home. An archaeologist’s dream, County Meath is traditionally known as the 'Royal County' because it contained the seat of the ancient High Kings of Ireland at the Hill of Tara. Older than the pyramids of Egypt, the passage graves of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth attract visitors from all over the world. Other places of interest include Slane Castle, and historic Kells, where the Book of Kells originated. Kells also has some fine 9th Century high crosses and a 1000-year-old Round Tower. As my husband and I both work full time Monday to Friday, we are hoping to find a very responsible and caring person to mind the children while we are at work. Both boys attend our local national school in Dunderry from 9am – 3pm Monday to Friday. Both children love fun and laughter and enjoy good communication. Our current au pair will leave us at the end of August. We are now looking for a replacement au pair who could commence with us on approximately 24 or 25 August 2008. We would require you to care for the children throughout the day. A typical school week will be: 5 days Monday to Friday 07.30 to 6 or 7 pm with free time while children are at school. During school holidays you would need to be with children throughout the day. We will also require max 2 evenings per week of babysitting normally maximum 1 and often we have no babysitting requirements on a weekly basis as we enjoy spending time at home with the boys. A typical day would start with breakfast, bath or shower before school, making children’s sandwiches/snack for school, preparing lunch for when children return home from school hot meal with meat or fish, vegetables and potato / rice or pasta, assistance with homework when they return from school. Once homework complete, children have play time. If weather poor, help children with games/drawing/jigsaws etc. You will be responsible for the boys bedroom, it should be clean and tidy hoovered, dusted and polished regularly and their clothes are taken care of – washing, ironing and putting away. In addition to the boys bedroom you need to ensure the kitchen is clean before and after children’s meals that are prepared by you table, floor and unit tops to be clean. We have a lady who comes twice weekly and she takes care of all other areas in the house. You will have use of a car throughout your time with us and so need to have a full clean driver’s licence and be a safe, responsible driver. The children need to be taken to and from school, to sports, parties or days at lake / sea etc. We will pay €130 a week and will supply you with your own fully furnished bedroom with bathroom en suite. The weekends will normally be free so you are free to explore the area or to accompany us in our activities. We will provide you with an Irish mobile phone, this is a ‘pay as you go’ phone and we will allocate Euro 10 credit per month for emergency use while taking care of the children. We have full internet access at our home and you can use our laptop for e mail / skype communication etc. Our priority is that our children are safe and happy with an active, healthy life. We would like you to interact well with them and help them to develop their particular interests and indeed introduce new interests. They will give love and hopefully they can be loved in return.
