What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

Laughter, enthusiasm, energy, a positive outlook on life, and willingness to become part of our family for a year! Your duties will include getting the children ready for their days Monday to Friday and getting them to and from school/daycare both in very close proximity to home and possibly sporting activities depending on lesson or activity times. Jasmine will be at school during the week, and Anise will attend day-care two days a week, so you will be looking after Anise three days a week. We would like someone who is genuinely fond of children and who will engage them in some activity during the day rather than simply baby-sit. The weekends and the times when Anise is in daycare will generally be yours to relax and/or explore the region. Any out of hours babysitting we ask you to do will be negotiated separately at the time. You will need to be a confident and capable driver, and licensed to drive a manual/stick-shift car. You will need to get a working holiday visa for Australia or Work and Holiday visa if you are American. Light housework will be mainly related to your own living areas, the children although we will be encouraging them to clean up after themselves as much as they can, and may include around 2-3 hours per week of light cleaning.

Family Description:

As a family we laugh loudly and often. Simon and Fiona both work full time in busy managerial positions, and have been transferred to a new location at the end of this year. As luck would have it, that location comes with a big heritage house about 150 metres from a pristine white sandy beach within a national park abounding with kangaroos. We are very much looking forward to the move, as we both love the beach, and intend on putting to good use our water sports equipment, including surfboards and windsurfers. We also like reading, cooking and just spending time together as a family. We highly value intelligence, humour and kindness, and hope to instil these qualities in our two girls – Jasmine turning 5 years old in March and Anise 3 years old in January. The girls are sweet, funny and generally well-behaved, and get on very well together – we are very lucky parents, I think! We encourage their natural child-like wonder by answering all their questions and teaching them things about the world around them, and more than anything we try to make them laugh, because that is the best sound in the world

Dear Au Pair, We are hoping to find someone fun and energetic although responsible and with good common sense who is willing to become part of our family for a year. We can offer you full board & lodging with your own good sized room with private access and a bathroom access to the internet and the use of a car with fuel card. You would be living in a beautiful and safe beachfront location in a small coastal village that is approximately three hours drive south of Sydney.
