What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

In general we are looking for a pleasant, gentle and sweet person, who is comfortable around our children. At the same time she should be assertive too, someone who can motivate herself and will look for ways to help out. Good driving skills would be important, as picking up the kids from day care and driving them home or to extracurricular activites would be one task. As we know from our own experience, being away from home can be hard sometimes. We will work hard to give our AuPair a pleasant and friendly home away from home.

Family Description:

We are a familiy of four and live in the beautiful town of Tübingen, Germany. My husband is an Associate Professor at the University of Tuebingen Hopital and I am a Research Assistant and work in biomedical research. We have two children: Our son will start 3rd grade elementary school this fall. His hobbies are tennis, swimming. Our little girl will be 3 in November She is a cheerful, lively young girl, who absolutely adores her brother. Where are we? We live in the beautiful town of Tuebingen in the southwestern part of Germany, which is about 25 miles south of Stuttgart, the capital of the state Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. For us it is the perfect place to live, work and raise our children. Even though Tuebingen is not exactly a big city ca.90,000 inhabitants, it has a wonderful international young and lively flair with its 22,000 students. It is a quaint and very safe place on one hand, but allows for a modern European livestyle. The state capital is reachable within a 30 minute ride and offers anything from shopping, museums to theaters/opera. By the way Stuttgart is home of Mercedes and Porsche.

We are looking forward to welcome an AuPair in our family as of Oct/2008. Why are we looking for an aupair from the U.S.? We spent 4 years in Baltimore, Maryland . The US was always a friendly place to us. We felt welcome and are grateful for the many friends we made during our stay. As our son was born in the U.S., we would love for him to have someone around, who can teach him about the great American way of life.
