Family Description:

Our son -almost 7- is a very cheerful easy to get along with little boy. I know all parents say that but its true :-. He likes to play soccer, is just starting to learn Judo, learns how to play the piano, and LOVES anything that has to do with reading and books, science and math, dinosaurs and lego. He goes to an all day bilingual german-english school. His brother is almost 8 months and has been a REALLY easy baby so far. He hardly ever cries and wins everyone over with his huge smile. So far he's been nothing but a bundle of joy. He starts kindergarden soon and I'm sure he'll love every minute of it. I'm a Professor and my husband owns a small consulting firm. We work a lot and hard but we love and enjoy spending family time, sports and participating in cultural events. We are a non smoking, no TV family there is a TV in the au-pair room. We love cooking and eating dinner together. I'm a fish eating vegetarian but my husband and the boys eat meat. We just don't cook meat at home. We live in the middle of Berlin, close to the Postdamer Platz and the Tiergarten. Our flat has two stories and a two balconies. The Au-pair room about 25 square meters, the kitchen, and the bathroom is downstairs. Our bedrooms, a toilet and the living room area are upstairs. We pay according to the German Au-pair regulations. In addition we provide a free pblic transport ticket, free w-lan in your room, a lap-top, support with health insurance and payment of educational courses. We are very good about making work-schedules in advance and sticking to them. We have had a lot of experiences with Au-pairs over the past few years. One even stayed with us for three years!

We need you to be indepenant as we work a lot. We would love you to be a great resource to our children but most and for all we want you to have fun with them. We want you to be an active person who likes to do fun. silly, and creative things with the kids. On occasions we need you to do baby sitting. We also would like you to help in the household just as any other regular family member would. We want you to be part of the family as much as you want to be but are also good about providing the independance you need. We'll love to learn from you and your backround and- of course- are happy to support you in any way possible. As our children enjoy a bilingual education we'd want you to speak english with them. We would like a commitment for at least 1 year as we know it takes a while for things to settle into a routine and for you to get used a the new living situation.
