Family Description:

Lively, cheerful, outdoors orientated family with 3 children aged 5girl, 9boy and 10girl. We live a country house in the country with lots of animals, dogs, cats, fishes, chickens and horses. We are one hour away from London by train and are only 5 mins away from the train station. The children are active in Pony Club and love riding.Both parents working full time. Kids are bright, cheerful, and loving.

Au Pair Letter:

Dear Au Pair We are a family of five, Jeremy Father, Penny Mother and Phoebe, Hugo and Poppy. Phoebe is 10 and is the eldest. She is a typical older sister to her siblings, academic, pony-mad, good skier, loves animals, riding, friends, reading, music. Hugo is 9 and is the middle child, quite sensitive, bright, loves animals, a cowboy rider, cycling, Star Wars, his friends. Poppy is the youngest at 5, loud, red curly hair, a real character, pony-mad, loves animals, ski-ing, doing everything her brother and sister do. All three attend a small private school about 15 minutes from our house. We also have a few pets. Two Spaniels – Buster and Pepper - five cats – Plato, Cato, Nato, Psycho and Tiger. There are three ponies – Hand, Mouse and Oscar – and a horse called Saffy. And from time to time there are chickens in the hen house. So you need to be OK with animals and able to help us look after them. We live near Tunbridge Wells in Sussex in a large country house called Loth Lorien with a pool, surrounded by gardens and woodland, with a paddock for the ponies. Tunbridge Wells is a pretty spa town with a railway station that is 45 minutes from the centre of London. It has good shops, language schools, cinema, theatre and quite a large international population, particularly from Europe Although close to Tunbridge Wells and just under a mile from a small railway station on the mainline to London, the location of Loth Lorien is very rural - so if it’s London living you have your heart set on then we willy not be the right family for you. However, Loth Lorien is quite beautiful, set within its own Arboretum with azaleas, rhododendrons, pines and wild deer, and within reach of the Ashdowne Forest as well as many places of interest – Bodiam and Hever castles, Battle Abbey, where the battle of Hastings was fought, country houses such as Chartwell Sir Winston Churchill, Batemans Rudyard Kipling, beautiful gardens such as those at Sissinghurst and Scotney Castle as well as many other towns and villages of interest. The sea is 45 minutes away at Rye. All the facilities you might need are available either in Tunbridge Wells or in our local village of Wadhurst. You can catch a bus, or drive or cycle to get around, but we have a car which will be available for you to use around the local area if you decide to come and live with us and are competent and insurable. Your accommodation at Loth Lorien is in a new annexe and includes a wood-panelled bedroom cum kitchenette with its own bathroom and entrance overlooking the drive. It has its own phone and wifi.
