What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

What we require § We require a 12 month commitment § You will be doing housework, including vacuuming, dusting, tidying and teaching our daughter to do housework, including vacuuming and dusting her room and keeping it neat and do her own laundry § You will be at home from 3:30 pm on school days to welcome our daughter home, help her prepare a snack and settle down to do her homework or get involved in another activity § You will help prepare meals and snacks and start dinner before we arrive home from work § You will help our daughter with her homework, help her develop good study habits and complete homework and assignments on time § Our daughter is interested in the arts, culture, drama, acting, cycling, reading, playing board games, among others. She would appreciate your participation in these activities and in other family activities! What we will provide § We will provide you with two days off a week and a lot of free time when our daughter is at school and we are at work § We will provide you with room and board a single room and bathroom shared with our daughter. We ask that you keep your room clean and tidy as a good example for our daughter § We will give you $200 CDN a week allowance for out-of-pocket expenses

We live in Ottawa, the capital of Canada, which is a short distance from Montreal, Toronto and New York. We are a professional working couple, married lesbians. Our daughter is 13 years old and would like a big sister/companion.

Au Pair Letter:

We would be very pleased to discuss with you the possibility of you being our au pair, and welcoming you to our home and our family in early to mid October 2008. We are looking for someone who would qualify for the Working Holiday Program but will consider others. Our house is centrally located near a large mall, pubic transport, a library, and a lot of waterfront parks with bicycle trails. We have a large house with a swimming pool and depending on the season, the au pair would travel with us on family vacations in Florida February and Nova Scotia by the sea August, including a music festival.
