What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

Mainly to babysit in the evenings when I am at work. Occassionally to meet the eldest from school. Speak french to the children for one hour per day the rest of the time to be in English to help the au pair learn English. To be a part of the family.

Family Description:

We are a two parent family. Daddy often works away during the week. Mother often works evenings. Two boys, lots of fun. Youngest at nursery 3 days per week, eldest at school. We have been living in France for the last 18 months and are now returning to England. Both the boys understand some French and the eldest speaks some too.

Au Pair Letter:

Dear Au Pair, We are a family of four: mother, father, two boys aged 3 and 4. We have been living in France for 18 months, in Samoens, and the children have been learning French. We are now moving back to England and would like the au pair to be a part of the family, help look after the children, mainly help with going to bed and babysitting in the evenings whilst mother works. We live in the countryside, 3 miles from the nearest town but we will provide you with a bus ticket and/or a bicycle. Language classes are available at a nearby college. We are an hour from London on the train, the nearest station is 3 miles away. We would like you to speak French to the children for one hour per day. When we are in France in the school holidays sometimes, you would be free to stay in England and have your family visit you at our house, or to travel to France with us and spend time with your family. We only have a small apartment in France so it would not be necessary for you to stay with us there, but you would be paid for weeks that we chose to be in France and not requiring your help approximately 8 weeks per year. We are only seeking au pairs from France or Geneva because of this as we will have room in the car to take you to and from France when we are on holiday if you want to go. You would have almost every weekend free. Any hours worked in excess of 25 hours, which would be rare, would be paid as overtime. We hope to hear from you soon!
