Family Description:

We are a relaxed, outgoing and very social family of four Mum Melissa 38, Dad Richard 42, Iluka 6 & Luis 5. We have two dogs golden retrievers who live outside and two cats. Please do not apply if you don’t like or are allergic to animals. Iluka is a gorgeous 6 year old girl, but who likes to think she is some years older. She is in grade 1 at school and although she doesn’t really enjoy the learning side of school she loves the social side of it. She is outgoing and very busy always on the go. She loves traveling and has a great interest in other countries and cultures. Luis is an adorable 5 year old, with a very caring and kind nature. Unlike his sister, he doesn’t really have a sense of adventure he would prefer to stay within his comfort zone. Unfortunately for him, his mum and sister drag him along on their adventures. I’m sure he’ll thank us one day! Iluka and Luis both attend the local private primary school and are involved in several after school activities golf, tennis & swimming. There is only 11 months between the two kids so they are extremely close and get along very well. But like all siblings they have their moments! They are very affection and love lot’s of cuddles. They are quite self sufficient, but need guidance to do things rather than having things done for them. For example you will instruct them to clean up their own mess and not do it for them, although they will try to get you to do it! They can bath and dress themselves but you will need to put out their clothes. They can not be trusted with their own selection just yet! They can brush their own teeth but need to be reminded, sometimes several times to do it! Get what I mean they are your typical 5 and 6 year old! I am crazy about my kids and love them dearly. However I am under no illusion that they can, like most kids be little buggers at times and need to be pulled back into line. So we are looking for someone who is not afraid to be stern with them when necessary. Richard is a painter from Amsterdam. He will be working away from home most of the time, hence why I need assistance with the day to day running of the family. I own and operate a translation company, with offices in London and Melbourne. I’m fortunate enough to work from home, which is mostly done at night when the kids are sleeping, or during the day when the kids are at school. I love being a mum and take great pride in being “hands on”, but there is only so much I can do. After all we all need to sleep sometimes! I have also traveled extensively throughout the world, mostly as a back packer in my 20’s. So I can appreciate how exciting the experience is and will do whatever I can to assist you with traveling around our beautiful country. We quite often visit my family in Melbourne and you will certainly be welcome to join us on these trips. We have had experience with having an au pair in the past and know what is required to make it a mutually successful relationship. I can appreciate how over whelming it can be as a live-in helper in a foreign country. We will certainly do all we can to help you settle in. We are looking for a start date around the first week of April, but can be flexible with this date. The start date can be earlier or later depending on your requirements. As far as the duration of your stay, we can also be flexible on this. We are happy for you to stay as long as you like. I can assist with working visa’s if required. The closest international airport is Brisbane and we will definitely meet you at the airport We live in a large newly built house 5 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms on beautiful acreage property in the hinterland of Noosa. As with any new house it is still a “work in progress” and although it isn’t quite finished we have moved in and it is more than comfortable. We still need to finish a few rooms and hope to have the swimming pool and landscaping finished within the next six months. Our house is located at the end of the court in the following estate http://www.thereservenoosa.com.au/start.html. It is very beautiful and surround by bush and wildlife. We are surrounded by a nature reserve. It is very tranquil setting but still only 10 minutes drive to bustling tourist areas of Noosa and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Au pair will have their own very comfortable bedroom with TV and desk top computer with internet. We look forward to hearing from you.

Au Pair Letter:
