What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

We expect the Au-pair to work between 30 and 40 Hours a week with generally one to two days of. Depending on our weekly needs we will discuss the hours. Normally we will need help in the afternoons when the mother picks up the older children from their different activities and the youngest child stays at home. We expect the Au-pair to prepare an easy meal, take care of the childrens clothes and tydiing up their rooms. We have a housekepper who takes care of the "big" household. On the week-ends we like to do excursions with the older children and would then need some baby-sitting on Sa or Sun. We would also expect the Au-pair to babysitt during the week when we are invited for dinner. So far we discussed with our previous Au-pairs the hours of the week/months in advance and always respected the 40 hrs maximum (as well as all obligations required by the law).

Family Description:

We are a half Swiss and half French family who livend a couple of years in the USA and UK. Our children speak mainly English, some French and some German. Our elder son has started the Swissgerman school last year so that our main languages at home are now German and French (with the baby). We live in a detached house in a residential area of Bern with a garden. The city center is about 7 min by tram, language courses would't be far away (the skiresort in winter are about 1 hour away. The Au-pair will have her own entrance to the house with a ca. 30 sqm room and her own bathroom.

In summer we like to travel to Italy in winter to the mountains so that you will see parts of Europe you might not know yet.
