What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

The aupair will be expected to look after the child's needs like feeding, washing, washing and ironing clothes as well as light house work. Light housework will include tidying the house and kitchen, cleaning the bathroom after use, washing dishes, washing and ironing clothes.

Family Description:

My husband and I live with our 3 year old daughter and my husband's 19 year old son who is on a gap year but working and due to start University in September. We both work fulltime. I am a medical doctor working in one of the hospitals in Bristol and my husband is an IT Contractor hence he works away from home most of the time. Our daughter goes to nursery 3 times a week Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays for full days. We live in a 5 bedroom detached house with a nice sized garden and a conservatory. There are 3 toilets, a family bathroom and an ensuite shower room. We love going out for walks to the park and my husband and I like going to the movies. We try as much as possible to take at least one family holiday in a year.

Au Pair Letter:

Dear Aupair My family would be delighted if you could live with us and help look after our 3 year old daughter. We are a busy family but very relaxed and have the ability to make visitors feel welcome and at home. We are of African origin but are both British hence our diets are different from the typical British diets. We like travelling a lot and so we have been able to come in contact with people of various nationalities so we will be at ease with anyone. Whilst with us we will expect you to not only do chilcare duties but some light housework. We will treat you as a member of our family and provide you with a mobile phone, your own room with a dressing table and TV and internet access. However you will not be allowed to use the home phone for personal calls. We will also provide you with a car to take our daughter to nursery and back and for your own personal use. We will provide a fixed amount of money every week for petrol. The nearest language school is about 8 miles from where we live and you will be able to attend this school if you wanted to.
