Family Description:
|
We are a family of 5. We have three sons, Alex (10), Sam (8) and Joel (3 in October). Alex and Sam are at school from 8am to 4.15pm, whilst Joel will be starting nursery 5 mornings a week. Alan is a Management Consultant and his work sometimes involves him travelling away from home. I am a pharmacist and work part time. We are all very friendly, sociable people who enjoy the company of our friends and family. We enjoy sport and being outdoors. We have no pets as Sam is allergic to animals but we all like animals and nature.

Dear au pair,
We live in a five-bedroom house in North West London. The nearest town is Watford, which is a 15-minute bus ride away and you can get in to the centre of London in 40 minutes, if you travel on London Underground from Stanmore. You will be provided with your own bedroom in our home and we will provide all your meals and pocket money which is negotiable depending on the number of hours you help out in the house. You will share a bathroom with our family.
My name is Tracy and I am a locum pharmacist. I only work sometimes. My husband is called Alan and he is a management consultant. We are both British and we only speak English at home. We have three sons, Alex who will be eleven in November, Sam, who is eight and Joel who three. Alex and Sam attend full time school. Joel is at nursery five mornings a week and at the moment a childminder picks him and looks after him for me until I get home from work. You will help me with the children and tidying the house every morning (Monday to Friday) and in the afternoons from 4 until 7 or 8 p.m. Alex and Sam are out quite a lot after school and I have to take them to these activities. You would be expected to look after Joel, feed him, bath him and get him ready for bed. You will also be asked to do some cleaning and ironing. You will have two days off every week which are usually Saturday and Sunday, although we may ask you to help us sometimes on a weekend and have a day off in the week instead. You will be expected to baby-sit two nights a week. You may be asked to baby-sit on a Saturday or Sunday night, but this will not be every weekend. These hours may change slightly during the school holidays.
We are a traditional Jewish family. We run a strictly kosher home, which means we eat no pig meat or shellfish and our food comes from a special butcher. We do not eat meat and milk products together. We go to Synagogue on Saturdays and we do not go shopping or watch television on our Sabbath.
There will be plenty of opportunity for you to practise your English and you will have time to attend English Language classes at Stanmore College or Harrow college, which is a short bus ride away.
There are many other au pairs living in this area and if you wish we can introduce you to some and of course you will make friends at the college.
We are a sociable family who like entertaining and going out. We live very near to our extended families and the boys often spend time with their grandparents. We like sports and the boys love playing in the garden, especially football! They are very active, energetic boys who like playing games.
We do not have any pets - though the boys sometimes keep goldfish!
Tracy
