What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

We are looking for someone that can help out to get the boys to school, and then pick them up. You will play with the kids, help out with home work. We need someone that will help out with prepairing dinner, baby sitting an evening now and then, and do some housework like cleaning, washing and ironing.

We are a family of five. It is me (Ulrika), my husband (Hannes), our twinboys (Rasmus & Ludvig, which also are the boys that you will be helping out with) and then finally our baby daughter (Selma).

Au Pair Letter:

Hi, It is very hard to make a short introduction of us, but I will try. My name is Ulrika. I am 37 years old and married to Hannes, who are 36 years old. We are both Swedish and living in Switzerland since 2002, but will be moving to Toronto/Canada in August 2008. We have are fairly experienced in having an au pair, as we have had a couple of them for the last 3 years. We have 3 children, Rasmus and Ludvig (twins, born in 2002) and Selma (born in Oct. 2008). Rasmus and Ludvig are fluent in Swedish and French, but do not speak English – this is something that they will have to learn. We are a family that likes to do things (mainly outdoors), and as our au pair you are welcome to join us. As Hannes will be traveling a lot, I need someone to help me out with the day-to-day business at home. This will primarily revolve around Rasmus & Ludvig, making sure they get to school and home again. Helping out with their homework, playing with them, making sure they are happy, ok and safe. We will look upon you as if you are one of us, and you will help out with housework as the rest of the family. As we have been living in French-speaking part of Switzerland since 2002, the boys are fluent in French which is a language we don't want them to forget. This is why it is very important you are fluent in French (not the Quebec-French, but “French-French”). You also need to be fluent in English, as this is the only way for you to communicate with me and my husband (unless you know Swedish, as we do not speak French very well).
