What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

You absolutely must be able to drive well and safely. During term time you will get the children ready for school in the morning and give them breakfast, sort our school bag, break etc. Drive to school. Come home and spend up to 2 hours a day cleaning, ie hoovering, tidying, washing and ironing. Pick up the children in the evening, give them tea, do homework, bath and put to bed. You should babysit up to 3 nights a week, but frequently less. During the holiday time you will look after the children for 5 days a week and do some cleaning . We have a very friendly labrador dog called Bramble. You also have the option of earning extra money cleaning my parents house which is nearby.

Family Description:

We are a fun loving family. Our picture shows our two children and one of our previous Au Pairs on holiday in Portugal. We have had three Au Pairs, two nanny's and a childminder over 8 years - all have become long term family friends, with Charlotte being the bridesmaid for one of the Nannies. We have had Au Pairs from Poland and the Chez Republic.

Au Pair Letter:

We have had three previous au pairs so are now practiced in what we are looking for providing you can fulfil this we will give you much in return. We have tried to be as descriptive as we can about what we need from an au pair as we want to be honest and up front On full days you will still be free between around 9:30 and 3pm or later with the exception cleaning to be done. Our current Au Pair, attends college 2 days a week learning English. The children have bonded well with all previous carers and we have enjoyed the opportunity to welcome someone into our home and to get to know them. We have learnt much about the cultures and customs of other countries and have even managed to master some basic Polish and Czech! We have had previous au pairs entire families come and stay over the summer to see England and we view them as our extended family. We have long jobs so need someone to help whith the children. We want you to live as part of our family - we are very social and entertain a lot at weekends. You will be free at weekends unless we need evening babysitting, but during the day you are free to do what you want or you are welcome to join in with what ever we are doing. Our main requirements are that you must drive, be friendly and have a good relationship with the children. We have two children, 7 and 9. William - 7 is a lovely boy, extremely affectionate and will shower you in kisses and cuddles. He never stops talking and loves doing anything. He is a typical boy and loves cars and trains but he also enjoys art and cooking. He loves dancing and as we always have music on in the house you will often catch him having a quiet boogie! William is now at school and has clubs three evenings a week. Charlotte - 9 is a beautiful young lady. She loves music and singing. Charlotte does after school clubs 3 nights a week so is late home from school quite a bit. She is very calm, considerate and caring and will be a great friend to you. We have a large house in Oxfordshire in a small village which is just 5 minutes between two towns, 40 mins from London, 10 mins from Oxford and 20 mins from Reading. The village is very vibrant and has lots going on, including a busy sports club. We also have a cottage in Cornwall which we frequently visit, it's in a beautiful area and we get to go surfing, playing on beaches and exploring. You will have your own room, TV, DVD player and car with sun roof and CD player and wireless internet. We are happy for you to use the car for your own private use. There are lots of other local au pairs, and a college nearby which provides english lessons to Au Pairs. Both of our previous Au Pairs and Nanny are happy to provide references regarding the time they spent with us. We remain in touch will all the girls who have joined us over the last 5 years and they frequently join us for bbq parties in the summer when we all get together and reminisce about our time together. We also invite other local au pairs so we have a good network set up already. Ideally we would like an Au Pair who has experience driving in the UK and that currently lives in the UK as we think it would be good to meet face to face for both us and you. We will provide some driving lessons for you on arrival, as it is crucial to us that you can drive safely. We really hope you will become part of our family and spend time with us all.
