What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

Family Description:

We are your typical family, with both my husband and I working full-time jobs outside the home. We have 2 girls, 9 and 4. McKenna is easy going, some what shy, but flexible. She likes to be with her friends as well as go to her activities like soccer, gymnastics, etc. She is pretty good about doing homework. Carley is absolutely hilarious. For as shy as McKenna, our other daughter is, Carley is outgoing and all personality. She loves an audience, it doesn't matter who. She loves to chat and is way beyond her years since she mostly hangs with her 9 year old sister and her friends. If she is in a bad mood though, she is tough to crack, but the good news is if there is an audience, she quickly switches gears. Bill and I are in our early to mid 40's. We are fairly active, but enjoy our down time as well.

Au Pair Letter:

We are your typical family, with both my husband and I working full-time jobs outside the home. We have 2 girls, 9 and 4. We are looking for someone to start late August/early September. Our need is for some morning hours and afternoon hours 2:30-6ish. We can be somewhat flexible with the morning hours as Carley can do some additional mornings at preschool if we had to work around some scheduling conflicts. We have had au pairs from Germany for the past 8 years which has worked really well for us, except the visa the girls come here on is only a one year visa. We get so attached every year, so we're thinking we would like to try to find someone more local who could be with us for longer than a year. McKenna, our 9 year old, is in the third grade. She catches the bus at 8am and gets home just before 3pm. Carley, our 4 year old, will go 5 afternoons to preschool and maybe a few mornings. The girls like to have friends over after school so some days you'll have a few others with you and other days McKenna will go to another girls house. The have about 2-3 activities a week which they'll need to be driven to. McKenna will also need help with homework if that is done when we get home to ease our nightly routine. The girls are pretty flexible and like every mom thinks fairly reasonable, but I'm not so unaware to think they don't have their bad days too. Hope this gives you some insight into our family.
