What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

Generally Martina is at home with you and the children, so that you would work as a team most of the time. Jakob will go to the kindergarden and school later on and Simon will start kindergarden in summer. We would like you to give us a hand especially with the two older boys reading English books, playing games, getting them ready for their activities, bringing them to kindergarden, school and sports activities etc. as Martina would spend more time with Paul. We would especially want you to talk to the older ones in English a lot and would in return give you the opportunity to pick up German quite easily with us. We really need someone who is friendly, excellent with children - enjoys their company. Ideally you will be good at meeting people and making the most of your time in Germany.

Family Description:

We are Martina, 35, Bernhard, 37, Jakob, 6, Simon, 3, and Paul, 1. He is the only Brit in our family, as he was born in Oxford during our stay in England. Jakob went to nursery school and "big" school in Marlborough, Wiltshire, which he enjoyed a lot. Simon picked up English with him and our current Au Pair. We'd love you to speak English with our boys and we would then speak German to you as much as you wish to improve your German language skills.

Au Pair Letter:

We just moved back to Germany from a two years assignment in England. We are still missing many things from England which became our second home. We live in Iserlohn, close to the Rhine-Ruhr area Dortmund, Bochum, Essen, Cologne, Duesseldorf not far away from the recreation area Sauerland. Until recently we had an Au Pair which we got to know in England and who was lovely with our boys and who became part of the family very quickly. Now we would like to find a new Au Pair to be an older sister to our boys and accompany us when traveling through the country to show our boys more of Germany. As Jakob and Simon are bilingual, basic German would be enough and you will pick up German quickly. If required, we have a language school nearby, which helped our recent Au Pair a lot to deepen her skills. You would have your own room and bathroom on a seperate floor and an own phone number with an international flat rate, so you can also have your privacy if you want to and easily keep contact with your home base.
